Common use

Soolantra Cream is a medicine used in the treatment of rosacea, which is an inflammatory condition that affects face. It helps in reducing the redness, swelling and pimples associated with rosacea.

Dosage and direction

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Precautions

Soolantra Cream may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Before using it, you should ask your doctor’s advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Contraindications

It is for use on the face only. Do not use Soolantra Cream in your eyes, mouth or vagina.
You should avoid application near the eyes, lips and nose. If accidentally Soolantra Cream gets in the eyes or near the eyes, eyelids, lips or nose, immediately wash the area with water. Inform your doctor if your skin problem does not improve within a few days or if it becomes worse.

Possible side effect

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them. Common side effects of Soolantra: Itching; Application site reactions (burning, irritation, itching and redness); Dizziness; Peripheral edema; Fever; Joint pain; Swelling of lymph nodes; Synovitis; Nausea; Diarrhea; Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing); Facial swelling; Fast heart rate; Increased white blood cell count (eosinophils); Increased hemoglobin; Increased alanine aminotransferase; Increased aspartate aminotransferase; Decreased white blood cell count.

Drug interaction

Other drugs may interact with Soolantra Cream, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell each of your health care providers about all medicines you use now and any medicine you start or stop using.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose of Soolantra Cream, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical attention.

Store below 30°C. Keep away from children and pets.
